Pars Today – Media sources report that Iraq has reopened Mosul Airport eight years after its closure due to Daesh occupation.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani on Wednesday morning officially inaugurated Mosul International Airport, which has been fully reconstructed. The airport had been completely destroyed during the Daesh occupation of the city. According to the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office, the airport will become fully operational within the next two months. Designed to accommodate large aircraft for both passenger and cargo services, it will have the capacity to handle 630,000 passengers and 30,000 tons of air freight annually. (IRNA)
