UK opposes Israeli settlement expansion in Al-Quds

Pars Today – The United Kingdom has voiced strong opposition to Israel’s settlement construction plans in Al-Quds.

In a statement released Friday night, the British Foreign Office said: “The UK strongly opposes the announcement of the Central Planning Department in the Israeli Civil Administration for resuming the E1 settlement project.”

The plan includes building over 3,000 housing units in East Al-Quds and would effectively divide a future Palestinian state in two, constituting a blatant violation of international law.

The Foreign Office warned that if implemented, the E1 settlement plan would severely undermine prospects for a sustainable peace between Israelis and Palestinians. (IRNA)
