China: Iran’s nuclear issue must be resolved through diplomacy

Pars Today – On Monday, ahead of the nuclear talks between Iran and the European Troika (France, Germany, and the UK) in Istanbul, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized the need to resolve the Islamic Republic’s nuclear issue through political and diplomatic means, stressing the importance of maintaining peace and security in West Asia.

Speaking at a press conference, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Guo Jiakun said: “The Iranian nuclear issue is related to peace and security in West Asia, as well as to the global non-proliferation regime.” He added that China has always supported a peaceful resolution through political and diplomatic channels, considering this the only correct path.

The spokesperson urged all relevant parties to move toward one another and work together to bring the Iranian nuclear issue back onto the path of political resolution.
