Trump orders deployment of nuclear submarines near Russia
Pars Today – The U.S. President announced late Friday local time that, in response to statements by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, he has ordered the deployment of two nuclear submarines near Russia to counter potential threats.
In an unprecedented move, Donald Trump described Medvedev’s remarks as "highly provocative" and stated that he issued the order in case these "foolish and inflammatory words" turn out to be more than just talk.
The U.S. President emphasized: "Based on the highly provocative statements by Medvedev—former Russian President and current Deputy Chairman of the Security Council—I have ordered two nuclear submarines to be positioned in necessary areas. This is to ensure these reckless and provocative remarks aren’t just empty words, because words matter greatly and can often lead to unintended consequences. I hope this isn’t one of those cases."
