Trump with European allies
Pars Today – The U.S. president’s proposed plan to end the war in Ukraine has sparked reactions among users on the social platform X.
Users on X responded to the 28-point plan put forward by U.S. President Donald Trump for ending the Ukraine war. This Pars Today report takes a look at some of those reactions.
Jason Hickel, a user on X, called the United States an unreliable ally and wrote:
“Europe needs to understand that the U.S. is not a trustworthy ally. U.S. leaders make it perfectly clear that if it serves their material interests, they will not hesitate to seize territory, violate international law, interfere in elections, and send Europeans to their deaths in proxy wars.”
In the same context, an X user with the handle Mr. Angry described the U.S. as a hypocritical and selfish country. He wrote:
“The United States has become a hypocritical and selfish nation that places its own interests above those of its allies… In today’s outlook, the U.S. can no longer be considered a reliable ally for Britain and Europe.”
Glenn Tunes, an X user, also called Trump’s peace plan for Ukraine a betrayal of democratic values. He wrote:
“Today, Zelensky, Ukraine, and all of Europe are facing a bitter truth. Our understanding of the United States has fundamentally changed. It is clear that under Trump, the U.S. can no longer be seen as an ally. The actions of this administration are a betrayal of democratic values.”
Additionally, an X user with the handle Petras Austrevicius described Trump’s 28-point peace plan for Ukraine as equivalent to Kyiv’s surrender. He wrote:
“Trump’s 28-point peace plan for Ukraine can be summed up in one point: Ukraine’s surrender. This is not a peace plan—it is a plan for capitulation.”
An Iranian user named Rezvan Naji described Trump’s plan for peace in Ukraine as a silent defeat. He wrote:
“Ukraine has reached a peace that resembles a silent defeat. Several key regions—from the most populous to the wealthiest—remain out of its reach. Lands and resources that were the backbone of the country’s economy. This peace came at a heavy cost, due to misplaced trust in the United States.”
Diane Hain, an X user, described the U.S. plan for Ukraine as a stab in the back to its allies. She wrote:
“America’s betrayal of its allies must always be remembered! It has destroyed unity with Europe. The U.S. has stabbed us in the back, humiliated us, and we must turn away from the United States.”
