Hezbollah: Lebanese government should take a wise stance on Resistance weapons

Pars Today – A member of Hezbollah’s Political Council on Sunday called on the Lebanese government to adopt a wise position regarding the issue of resistance weapons.

Mahmoud Qomati, speaking on Al-Manar TV's program “Between Parentheses”, said: “We call on the Lebanese government to take a wise and prudent stance on Tuesday (August 5) concerning the weapons of the resistance.”

The Hezbollah Political Council member added: “Resistance weapons are solely for confronting external threats, and no one inside Lebanon should fear them.” Qomati emphasized that the weapons of the resistance are in accordance with international law and that “no one can sideline the role of the resistance, which will continue in line with international legal frameworks.”

Previously, Sheikh Naim Qassem, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, had asserted that “the weapons of the Resistance are a domestic matter and have nothing to do—directly or indirectly—with the Israeli enemy.”
