  • Iran: Any negotiation depends on national interests

Pars Today – The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran stated on Wednesday evening that any negotiations will depend on what national interests require.

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, in response to a question about whether a new round of negotiations between Iran and the United States is planned, said: “No confirmed arrangement has been made. There have been and still are discussions. Messages have been conveyed to us from the other side. Whether negotiations take place in the near or distant future depends on what the interests of the Islamic Republic dictate.”

The Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized that negotiation is part of Iran’s strategic engagement with the rest of the world, including specifically with the United States. He added, “To safeguard the country’s interests, we will fight wherever necessary, and we will negotiate and pursue diplomacy wherever necessary. We will not forgo any tools at our disposal in securing national interests.”
