Pars Today – On Friday, the head of the Palestinian government’s Information Office in Gaza warned of a dire situation in the southern part of the enclave, reporting that approximately 890,000 people in Khan Yunis Governorate and the Muwasi area of Rafah are facing hunger, lack of drinking water, and the risk of various diseases.

Ismail Al-Thawabteh stated that Palestinian refugees in Gaza are living under extremely harsh and inhumane conditions. Severe food shortages, lack of safe drinking water, and the near-total absence of health services and adequate shelter have pushed their lives to the brink of disaster. Additionally, overcrowding in homes and temporary shelters has significantly increased the risk of disease outbreaks and epidemics.

Al-Thawabteh emphasized that the current situation in Gaza is an unprecedented catastrophe requiring immediate international intervention to halt the attacks and provide urgent humanitarian aid. He also reported on the brutal and systematic attacks by the Israeli army on the Al-Amal neighborhood in western Khan Yunis. He added that the occupying forces are pursuing collective punishment policies and the destruction of urban infrastructure by demolishing and blowing up residential buildings.

According to Al-Thawabteh, these actions, which have displaced more families and worsened the humanitarian crisis, constitute a clear violation of international humanitarian law and amount to war crimes.
