Death toll from Afghanistan earthquake rises above 800

On Monday, the Taliban government issued a statement expressing condolences to the families of the victims and to those affected in the eastern provinces. The statement added that all relevant Afghan government agencies have been instructed to reach the affected areas and use all available resources to assist them. In the earthquake on Sunday night in eastern Afghanistan, 812 people were killed and more than 2,800 others were injured.
