Iranian FM, Iraqi PM meet in Baghdad
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Prime Minister of Iraq Mustafa al-Kadhimi discussed range of issues at a meeting in Baghdad on Sunday.
According to Tasnim news agency, Zarif, who arrived in Baghdad on Sunday morning, held talks with the Iraqi prime minister, who took office in May.
In their talks, held in a private and a plenary meeting, Zarif and Kadhimi discussed the latest developments in Tehran-Baghdad bilateral ties, the Iraqi premier’s upcoming visit to Iran, and major regional and international issues.
The top Iranian diplomat has visited Baghdad to make arrangements for Kadhimi’s Tuesday trip to Tehran.
Zarif also visited Erbil in the afternoon at the invitation of President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani.
