IRGC warns UK: Do not further tarnish your record

Pars Today – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement warning the United Kingdom not to deepen its involvement in the recent U.S. and Israeli military actions against Iran.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, the IRGC Public Relations Office said in a statement on Thursday:

We warn the British monarchy, which has been a major cause of the suffering of the people of our region, has a dark record of dividing Islamic countries and carrying out widespread killings in these countries, and has played the greatest role in the recent aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, not to further add to its record of wrongdoing.

 Full text of the IRGC statement is as follows:

The great and history-making people of Islamic Iran;

Your remarkable continued presence and revolutionary demands are the greatest source of encouragement for the Islamic fighters and strengthen their faith and trust in Almighty God.

As part of the punishment of the aggressor and in response to the crimes of the U.S. military — which at dawn on Wednesday, by attacking the route used by pilgrims of Aba Abdillah al-Hussein (PBUH), further revealed its Yazidi nature and displayed the brutality and cruelty of U.S. leaders to the world —on Thursday morning, IRGC forces, in the 26th wave of Operation Nasr-2 under the sacred code name "Ya Aba Abdillah al-Hussein (PBUH)", dedicated to the Arbaeen pilgrims, carried out combined attacks and destroyed a U.S. special electronic warfare unit at Al Udairi Base.

The statement added that the IRGC also attacked the accommodation facilities of personnel from this unit, adding that a number of them were killed or wounded.

It further stated that the air traffic control tower at the base was also hit and damaged, adding that the IRGC’s punitive operations would continue.

The statement continued:

"The defeated United States on the battlefield is once again seeking, through deception and trickery, to create another opportunity to recover and regroup for renewed attacks. In recent days, it has repeatedly spoken about returning to negotiations."

It added: "The enemy must pay the price for its breach of commitments. This time, we will not allow the United States to use deceptive ceasefires to replenish its oil and ammunition reserves and then resume attacks."

The statement claimed that the U.S. military, which after the official resumption of the war had used cruise missiles launched from naval vessels in the Indian Ocean, had turned to using B-1 aircraft operating from Britain’s RAF Fairford base after the missile supplies of those ships were depleted.

It further stated:

"As Iranian Foreign Ministry officials have also emphasized, any base used to launch aggression against Iranian territory will be considered a legitimate target for us."

Addressing the British government, the statement said:

"We warn the British monarchy, which has been a primary cause of the suffering of the people of our region and has a dark record of dividing Islamic countries, carrying out widespread killings in these countries, imposing authoritarian governments, and, above all, organizing and directing the occupation of Palestine and the establishment of the 'Israeli catastrophe,' and which has played the greatest role in the recent aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, not to further worsen its record."
