General highlights Iran’s achievements in military industry
Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier Gen. Qassem Taqizadeh said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ranked among the world’s top countries in the production of missiles and weapons operable by individual soldiers.
According to Tasnim News Agency, addressing a gathering of university students in Tehran, he praised local experts for making considerable progress in various military industries, such as the aerospace and missile technologies, electronic warfare, air defense sector, and naval industries.
Iran is currently ranked among the world’s top three countries in manufacturing anti-armor missiles, among the top two in the production of weapons used by individual soldiers, and among the world’s four top powers in the missile industry, he added.
The deputy defense minister also gave an assurance that the assassination of eminent nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh and Lt. General Qassem Soleimani will not remain unanswered, adding, “The al-Quds occupying regime (illegal Zionist entity) will pay the price for such a grave crime.”
Iran will take a harsh revenge for the assassinations on the basis of prudence and wisdom in due time, he concluded.
Fakhrizadeh, a senior nuclear and defense scientist, was martyred near Tehran on November 27.
In a message after the incident, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said to “investigate this crime and firmly prosecute its perpetrators and its commanders” and “to continue the martyr’s scientific and technological efforts in all the sectors where he was active.”
