President-elect vows to reform administrative system, fight COVID-19
President-elect Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi says making reforms in the administrative system, creating job opportunities and fighting COVID-19 will be among his topmost priorities after taking office in less than two months.
According to Press TV, he made the remarks in his first televised interview speaking from the holy city of Mashhad on Friday.
“What has preoccupied my mind more than everything is the issue of occupation. The issue of coronavirus that the [Iranian] people are grappling with has also preoccupied my mind.”
He noted that his administration would also focus on increasing the availability of housing for the public as pledged during his election campaign.
Raiesi, however, said people are aware that some measures would take time and emphasized that his administration would make utmost efforts to solve problems as soon as possible.
The president-elect said he intends to maintain close interaction with the people and sets no limitation in this regard.
He called for national unity to overcome the problems the country is struggling with.
