  • President Raisi urges care for consumer demands in transition period

Iran's President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi stressed the need to regulate the market and meet the daily demands of families during the administration's transition period.

According to Tasnim news agency, President Raisi on Sunday chaired a meeting of the cabinet, comprised of his new vice president and chief of staff as well as the outgoing ministers serving in the administration of his predecessor.

The new president emphasized that the administration's transition period should by no means disrupt the routine tasks or delay the process of making necessary decisions that may violate the rights of people or the government.

He also called on the officials to handle the situation with utmost care, monitor the markets strictly and prevent any shortcoming is the fulfillment of needs of people as the new administration is being formed.

The president also highlighted the importance of strict compliance with the health protocols during the upcoming mourning ceremonies in the lunar month of Muharram marking the anniversary of martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH), the third Shias' Imam.

The daily death toll from the coronavirus in Iran broke a record on Sunday with 542 fatalities. So far, over 12.58 million people have received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine in the country.
