  • Irish, Georgian, Mongolian leaders congratulate Iran’s president on taking office

The presidents of Ireland, Georgia and Mongolia hoped for closer relations with Tehran in separate congratulatory messages to their Iranian counterpart Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi, who was sworn-in last week.

According to Tasnim news agency, in one of the messages, President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins congratulated Raeisi on assuming the post of president, wishing success for the Iranian administration and people in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and other challenges.

He also noted that ensuring peace and security requires collective action.

In another message, Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili voiced her country’s readiness to boost the friendly relations with Iran on the basis of mutual respect and cooperation.

She also expressed confidence that President Raeisi’s efforts will guarantee a sustainable, secure and successful future for Iran.

President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh also congratulated the new Iranian president in a message, saying he is confident that a new chapter in cooperation between Ulaanbaatar and Tehran will open during the new Iranian administration’s tenure.

Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi took the oath of office as Iran’s 8th president on August 5.
