Iran Greco-Roman team wins 2023 Zagreb Open Ranking Series
The Iranian Greco-Roman wrestling team claimed the title of the 2023 Zagreb Open Ranking Series event.
According to Tasnim news agency, the Iranian wrestlers won four gold, four silver and five bronze medals in the competition, held in Zagreb, Croatia.
Iran won the team title with 195 points. Hungary and the Republic of Azerbaijan came second and third, respectively.
Poya Dad Marz (55 kg), Mehdi Mohsennejad (60kg), Mohammad Ali Geraei (77kg) and Alireza Mohmadi (82kg) won four gold medals for Iran.
Aref Hossein Khoun Mohammadi (63kg), Reza Mahdi Abbasi (67kg), Saijad Imentalab (72kg) and Nasser Alizadeh (87kg) seized four silvers.
Mohammad Javaheri Farid (55kg), Iman Hossein Khan Mohammadi (63kg), Amin Kaviyaninejad (77kg), Pejman Poshtam (82kg) and Amir Ghasemimonjezi (130kg) won five bronze medals.
Iran's freestyle team had previously finished in second place in the Zagreb Open Ranking Series.
