FM arrives in Omani capital Muscat for high-level talks
Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has arrived in the Omani capital for talks with the Persian Gulf sultanate’s officials.
Heading a high-ranking political delegation, Amir-Abdollahian traveled to Muscat on Tuesday, at the invitation of Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi.
The top Iranian diplomat will discuss bilateral relations as well as major international and regional issues in his meetings with Omani officials.
Back in December, Amir-Abdollahian visited Oman for talks on various regional and international issues, including the crises in Yemen, Afghanistan, and Ukraine.
At the time, he described his visit as an opportunity to examine the countries' mutual affairs, and also a chance to discuss issues "that have to be [addressed] at a faster pace."
Amir-Abdollahian is also scheduled to visit Lebanon to meet with senior Lebanese officials.
According to Lebanese media, the Iranian foreign minister will arrive in Beirut on Wednesday.
During his two-day visit, he will hold talks with Lebanese officials, including Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib.
