  • Iran, Brazil discuss ways to end Gaza war

Senior Iranian and Brazilian diplomats discussed efforts for the cessation of the Israeli regime’s deadly strikes on the Gaza Strip.

According to Tasnim news agency, in a telephone conversation on Thursday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Brazilian counterpart Mauro Vieira talked about a range of bilateral and regional issues, including the latest developments in Palestine.

The two ministers stressed the need for continuous consultations between Iran and Brazil to help stop the massacre of Palestinians and protect civilians in Gaza.

Israel stepped up its bombardment of the besieged territory since the US vetoed a UN Security Council resolution for peace in Gaza on Friday.

Before the vote at the Council meeting on Friday, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned Gaza was at a “breaking point” with the humanitarian support system at risk of collapse.

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, 18,608 Palestinians have been massacred and more than 50,594 injured in Israel’s ongoing aggression in Gaza starting on October 7.

Palestinian and international estimates say that the majority of those martyred and wounded are women and children.
