Iranian FM: Counting on U.S. to halt genocide in Gaza is delusional
Pars Today – The foreign ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have issued a communique at the end of their emergency summit in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, roundly condemning Israeli crimes and atrocities in Gaza and demanding an immediate, complete and unconditional end to Israeli military aggression in the besieged territory.
Speaking at the emergency summit in Jeddah, Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stressed that counting on the US to halt the genocide in Gaza is delusional. He poignantly added: "The continuing and unprecedented crimes and atrocities of the Zionist regime in Gaza prove that this regime is deliberately pursuing a policy of "destruction of the Palestinian nation."
In their statement the OIC foreign ministers called on the international community to take immediate practical steps to put pressure on the Israeli regime to halt its aggression in Gaza.
Israel started its genocidal war against the defenseless Palestinian population of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank of the Jordan River on October 07, 2023, with the full backing of Western countries. The massacring of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank has shocked the international community and has been forthrightly condemned by much of the world.
According to latest reports from Gaza, over 30000 Palestinians have been martyred, and over 70000 have been injured during Israel's brutal war of aggression.
