Pars Today - The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran said: Iran is ready to have effective and equal relations with world powers and its neighbors to build a better world.

Masoud Pezeshkian, criticized the US withdrawal from the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, saying: Iran and world powers reached the JCPOA with an opportunity-oriented approach, Tehran accepted the highest level of monitoring in the nuclear field in exchange for recognizing Iran's rights and lifting sanctions. However, the unilateral withdrawal of Donald Trump from the JCPOA showed a threat-oriented approach in politics and a power-oriented approach in economics.

Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran has adhered to all its commitments under the JCPOA, as confirmed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and is ready to interact with JCPOA member states.

He added if the JCPOA commitments are fully and sincerely implemented, it is possible to discuss other issues as well.

Addressing the American people, Pezeshkian said: It is not Iran that has built a military base on your borders, it is not Iran that has imposed sanctions on your country and prevented your trade with the world. It is not Iran that has prevented your access to medicine. It is not Iran that has prevented your access to the world's banking and financial system. It is not Iran that has assassinated your military leaders, but it is America that has assassinated Iran's most beloved military commander at Baghdad airport.

Pezeshkian also emphasized that sanctions are a destructive and inhumane weapon aimed at crippling a country's economy, adding that the deprivation of access to vital medicines is one of the most painful consequences of sanctions, which puts the lives of thousands of innocent people at risk. This action is not only a blatant violation of human rights but also a crime against humanity.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran also referred to Israel's crimes in the West Asia region, saying: The world has seen the nature of the Israeli regime over the past year; they have seen how the leaders of this regime commit crimes and have killed more than 41,000 innocent people in Gaza in 11 months, most of whom were women and children. But Israel and its supporters call this "genocide, child killing, war crimes, and state terrorism" "legitimate defense".

Pezeshkian emphasized that the only way to end the 70-year-old nightmare of insecurity in West Asia and the world is to restore the right to self-determination of the Palestinian people, adding, the international community must immediately stop the violence and war of the Zionist regime in Gaza and Lebanon.

President Pezeshkian, while expressing the support of Iran to the liberation and popular movements, stated that it is Israel that has assassinated our scientists, diplomats, and guests in Iran and has secretly and openly supported Daesh and terrorist groups.

Pezeshkian also expressed Iran's desire for peace for all, including the people of Ukraine and Russia, and emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran opposes war and emphasizes the need for a swift cessation of military conflicts in Ukraine. He added that Iran supports any peaceful solution and believes that this crisis can only be resolved through dialogue.
