Pars Today – The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Moscow met with the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss strategies for countering fake news and strengthening media cooperation.

Kazem Jalali, Iran’s ambassador to Moscow, met on Tuesday with Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, the two sides discussed recent developments related to media capabilities, assessed possibilities for expanding media cooperation, explored methods of media influence, and considered joint efforts to deepen mutual understanding of public opinion in both countries.

They also discussed strategies for confronting fake news and harmful information campaigns that damage bilateral relations.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has previously described the anti-Iran disinformation spread by Western and American media as part of a “dirty political campaign.”

European troika, after three years of obstruction, now blames time
And in other news, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s permanent representative to international organizations, stated that Iran has the right to peaceful use of nuclear energy, including uranium enrichment, and emphasized: questioning this right is absolutely absurd.

Referring to the European Troika’s (France, Germany, and the UK) obstruction in the JCPOA revival talks, Ulyanov said these countries, after three years of hindering progress, are now claiming that time is running out and a new agreement must be reached. “Is this what diplomacy is?” he asked.

In this context, Jean-Noël Barrot, the French Foreign Minister, threatened the Islamic Republic of Iran with activation of the snapback mechanism. Without any mention of the United States’ unilateral withdrawal from the JCPOA, he stressed the need to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
