Pars Today - The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Navy has kicked off large-scale missile drills, codenamed Eghtedar Paydar 1404 with the aim of demonstrating defensive capabilities and testing the latest domestically developed weapons.

According to Pars Today, citing the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), the operational phase of the Navy's " Eghtedar Paydar 1404" missile drill kicked off on Thursday with the participation of surface and subsurface vessels, aviation units, coastal-to-sea missile sites, sea-based missile sites, and electronic warfare units. The two-day exercise is being held in the northern Indian Ocean and the Sea of Oman.

As part of the main stages of the Navy's " Eghtedar Paydar 1404" missile drill, various types of sea-launched cruise missiles with different ranges were successfully fired from the coast and from the decks of Navy surface vessels, hitting their targets in the northern Indian Ocean and the Sea of Oman.

During this phase of the drill, the missile-launching vessel "Genaveh" and the destroyer "Sahand" simultaneously fired "Nasir" and "Qadir" sea-launched cruise missiles, along with the coastal and anti-ship "Qader" missile from the Velayat 2 coastal system, successfully striking and destroying the designated surface target at sea.

The "Qader" sea-launched cruise missile is a medium-range, radar-evading anti-ship cruise missile with high destructive power and remarkable targeting accuracy, designed to engage vessels and coastal targets. The "Qadir" sea-launched cruise missile is a long-range, radar-evading anti-ship cruise missile with high destructive power and remarkable targeting accuracy, used to counter vessels. The "Nasir" sea-launched cruise missile is a short-range, radar-evading anti-ship cruise missile with high destructive power and remarkable targeting accuracy, also used to counter vessels.

The Navy's " Eghtedar Paydar 1404" missile drill serves as an opportunity to showcase Iran's domestic capabilities and defensive self-sufficiency.
