Pars Today – Iran's Foreign Minister emphasized: The illusion of a "Greater Israel" is an existential danger and a threat to international peace and security. The time for slogans, statements, condemnations, and expressions of concern is over.
In an op-ed titled "The Illusion of a Greater Israel: An Existential Threat and a Danger to International Peace and Security," published in the regional newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, addressed Islamic countries, writing:
"On the eve of the emergency meeting of foreign ministers of Islamic countries in Jeddah, global conscience is once again focused, this time with greater urgency, on the most significant existential and identity threat facing the region and the Islamic world: the Zionist regime."
Araghchi wrote: "The Zionist regime has spared no effort in the complete destruction of Gaza, turning it into a scorched land. It has perpetrated the most heinous massacres against women and children, repeatedly displaced residents through forced evacuations, used starvation and famine as a new tool for genocide, and turned food distribution centers into death traps for hungry and innocent women and children."
In his op-ed, Araghchi stated: "The crimes of the Zionist regime are not limited to Gaza. The expansion of settlements in the West Bank, the intensification of the Judaization of Al-Quds, continued attacks on Lebanon, targeting infrastructure in Yemen, efforts to undermine the foundations of the state in Syria, as well as the recent military aggression against Iran, which resulted in the martyrdom of over a thousand civilians, and finally, the public statements and dissemination of fabricated maps by the leaders of this regime regarding what they call the 'Greater Middle East' and their expansionist intentions toward neighboring countries—all indicate the spread of this cancerous tumor and its infiltration into the entire body of the region."
Araghchi emphasized: "Under these circumstances, the continued cooperation and support of some Western powers, particularly the United States of America, for this criminal regime is not only complicity in crime but also a growing threat to peace and stability in the region and the world."
"The upcoming meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers must become a turning point that solidifies the collective resolve of Islamic countries to curb the insatiable ambitions of Netanyahu and his gang, and to prevent the continued massacre of innocents, the destruction of Islamic nations, and the annexation of their lands."
Araghchi stated: "Our religious and humanitarian responsibility, as representatives of Islamic countries, necessitates making an effective and serious decision to aid our brothers in Gaza and the West Bank, to halt the genocide, to prosecute and punish the criminals, and to prevent the expansionist ambitions of this genocidal and law-breaking regime in the Islamic world. We must take resolute steps to implement these decisions."
The Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized that the time for slogans, issuing statements, expressing condemnation, and concern is over. Now is the time for unity and solidarity, in both word and deed, across the Islamic world to make decisive decisions and strengthen full cooperation and coordination for their implementation. History will judge us today. Let us prove that the Islamic Ummah is capable of defending the oppressed and stopping the murderer during the most painful and decisive moments of its history.
