Pars Today – Imam Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, referring to the shocking crimes and atrocities committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza, stated that the way to confront this situation is for protesting countries—especially Islamic nations—to sever their commercial and political ties with the regime.

On Sunday, September 7, 2025, Imam Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution, in a meeting with the President and Cabinet of Iran, referred to the shocking crimes and atrocities committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza, stating that the way to confront this situation is for protesting countries—especially Islamic nations—to sever their commercial and political ties with the regime. He described the Zionist regime as the most isolated and hated regime in the world and added: “One of the main lines of our diplomacy must be to encourage governments to cut commercial and political relations with this criminal regime.”

Meanwhile, last year, on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, in a meeting with a group of government officials and ambassadors of Islamic countries, stated: “Assisting the Zionist regime by Islamic countries is a betrayal—betrayal of the Islamic Ummah. It is also a betrayal of themselves. When the Zionists enter a country, it is not to benefit that country; once they gain influence, they drain it like a mosquito, to serve their own interests. Helping the Zionist regime is helping to destroy themselves. The Islamic Ummah, for its part, must prevent this.”

Imam Khamenei added: “This was our previous recommendation, and now it is our definite recommendation: Islamic governments should cut their economic and political relations with the Zionist regime. This is the expectation from Islamic governments—not only our expectation, but the expectation of Muslim nations. If a referendum were held today in Islamic countries, there is no doubt that everyone would vote in favor of their governments severing ties with the Zionist regime; there is no question about this.”

Vital lifelines of the Zionist regime must be cut

In a meeting with the organizers of the 24,000 Martyrs of Tehran Congress, Imam Khamenei criticized the performance of officials from Islamic countries regarding the critical issue of Gaza. He stated: “Sometimes the positions and statements of officials from Islamic countries are mistaken because they speak about matters such as a ceasefire in Gaza, which is beyond their control and in the hands of the treacherous Zionist enemy. Officials of Islamic countries should act on matters that are within their power.”

Imam Khamenei emphasized: “What is within the control of officials in Islamic countries is to cut the vital lifelines of the Zionist regime. Islamic countries must sever their political and economic ties with the Zionist regime and refrain from assisting it.”
