Iran secures world wushu runner-up title with 10 medals
Pars Today – The Iranian Wushu delegation claimed the runner-up spot at the 17th World Wushu Championships after earning 10 medals in total.
The championships, held in Brazil from September 2 to 7, concluded with Iran’s national team taking second place overall with 6 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals across both the men’s and women’s Sanda and Taolu divisions.
China topped the standings with 16 medals, while Malaysia and Hong Kong finished third and fourth respectively.
For Iran, Zahra Kiani, Sedigheh Daryaei, Soheila Mansourian, Shahrbanoo Mansourian, Erfan Moharrami, and Mehdi Moradi each captured gold. Shoja Panahi and Mohsen Mohammadseifi secured silver medals, while Shahin Bani-Talebi and Soheil Mousavi brought home bronze.
A remarkable showing that reaffirmed Iran’s place among the world’s top wushu powers.
