Pars Today - Iranian users on the social media platform X marked Unity Week by emphasizing that the unity of the Islamic Ummah is among the most important teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Sunni Muslims observe the 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal, and Shia Muslims the 17th of the same month, as the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Imam Khomeini (God bless his soul), the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran and a prominent advocate of Muslim unity, used this occasion to bring Islamic groups closer together and designated the period between these two dates as “Unity Week.”
On this occasion, the 39th International Islamic Unity Conference was held in Tehran, attended by Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, along with scholars from across the Islamic world. According to Pars Today, Iranian users on the social media platform X commemorated Unity Week, emphasizing that the unity of the Muslim Ummah is among the most important teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
In this regard, a user named “Mahdis” on X wrote: “The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), through his teachings, united scattered people into a single Ummah. He taught equality, justice, and compassion, showing how a harmonious society can be built through good ethics.”
Another user, “Rassaf,” stated: “International Zionism aims to destroy Islam, showing no distinction between Sunni and Shia. It kills Sunnis in Syria, Gaza, Yemen, Iraq, and others, as well as Shia. Reason and faith demand that Muslims worldwide stand against this malicious phenomenon.”
Another user “Esmaeili” also wrote: “The unity of Muslims is an invaluable asset, manifesting itself in support of the oppressed, especially the people of Gaza.”
Another user, Hosseini wrote: “Unity Week is a reminder of a historic responsibility. The Muslim Ummah must choose solidarity over division.”
Another user, Nima, emphasized: “Iran stands at the forefront in support of Palestine and the resistance. This unity reflects Islamic solidarity in the face of challenges.”
Yousef Shamseddini described al-Quds as the “beating heart of the Muslim Ummah” and added: “If the Muslim Ummah sets aside artificial divisions, it can shift global dynamics in favor of Palestinian freedom.”
User Maryam addressed Muslims worldwide, writing: “Every bullet fired in Gaza echoes our disunity. If Muslims were united, would a Palestinian child have to die under the rubble? Unity is not just a slogan; it is a responsibility. Today, Palestine calls on us to stand together.”
Meanwhile, Zahra Jalali emphasized the power of unity in enhancing the political and cultural influence of the Muslim world: “The unity of Muslims will be a serious barrier against common enemies. Successful examples of Islamic cooperation, such as support for the Palestinian cause or joint scientific and cultural initiatives, demonstrate the pivotal role of unity in strengthening Islamic identity.”
