Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi
Pars Today – Iran’s Foreign Minister dismissed the move by the three European signatories to the JCPOA (Britain, France, and Germany) to activate the snapback mechanism, calling it devoid of any legal or political legitimacy.
According to Pars Today, Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, in an article published by Indonesia’s Jakarta Post, condemned the actions of the three European countries in activating the snapback mechanism. He wrote that by initiating this move, the European troika has inflicted significant negative consequences on Europe’s credibility and international standing. Araghchi added that the three countries will not only fail to achieve their objectives but will also be excluded from future diplomatic processes.
Iran’s Foreign Minister described the European troika’s action as a serious threat to Europe’s international credibility and the 2015 nuclear agreement. He stressed that countries that violate their commitments cannot benefit from the very deal they have undermined. Araghchi reiterated that Iran will never compromise on its sovereignty, rights, or security, and warned that if previously lifted sanctions are reinstated, Iran will consider its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to be terminated.
