FM spokesperson: G7 statement on reinstating sanctions resolutions against Iran hypocritical

Pars Today - The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran condemned the G7 group's statement regarding Iran's nuclear issue as hypocritical.
Esmaeil Baghaei, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stated that the G7 member countries' welcome of the illegal and unjustified action by three European countries and the United States to reinstate the canceled UN Security Council resolutions against Iran – which was carried out by abusing the JCPOA dispute resolution mechanism and without any legal or logical justification – is considered as their support for an action that violates international law. He emphasized that this stance by the G7 cannot in any way change the illegal and unjustified nature of this action.
The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, recalling the Israeli regime's military aggression against Iran during diplomatic negotiations and with the coordination and cooperation of the United States, followed by a direct U.S. attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, described the G7's claim that "the three European countries and the United States have repeatedly, in good faith, presented diplomatic solutions to prevent escalation and achieve a comprehensive and sustainable negotiated solution" as pure falsehood and a distortion of the truth.
Baghaei noted that fundamentally, the United States, due to its illegal and unilateral withdrawal from the JCPOA in 2018 and subsequent continuous violations of international law regarding Iran and its obstruction of the path to implementing the JCPOA, is the main cause and actor responsible for the current situation. The three European countries – Britain, France, and Germany – also, due to their following of the United States and their failure to fulfill their commitments, as well as their support for the United States and the Israeli regime in the military aggression against Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities, not only committed a "major non-performance" of their JCPOA commitments but also, with apparent bad faith, ignored all of Iran's initiatives and efforts for diplomacy.
The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also, referring to the indifference of G7 member countries towards the nuclear arsenal of the genocidal Zionist regime, described these countries' approach to the non-proliferation issue as hypocritical and emphasized: These seven countries, due to their deceitful and irresponsible behavior regarding the rule of law, and international peace and security, lack any moral credibility to preach to others.
The Group of Seven, in a statement whose text was published on the UK government's website on Wednesday night, announced: We, the G7 foreign ministers – including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, and the US – and the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs, stand united in support of the European Troika's activation of the snapback mechanism to reinstate UN Security Council sanctions and other restrictions against Iran.
