Pars Today – The head of Iran’s International Scientific Cooperation Center at the Ministry of Science, during a meeting with the Indonesian ambassador, emphasized the development of joint scientific, academic, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Farhad Yazdandoost, head of Iran’s International Scientific Cooperation Center at the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, and Rulianshah Sumirat, the Indonesian ambassador, explored the existing capacities for expanding academic and scientific relations between the two countries and emphasized the importance of strengthening joint cooperation in educational, research, and cultural fields.

During the meeting, both sides agreed on developing cooperation through the drafting and implementation of new memorandums of understanding, defining joint research projects, organizing specialized meetings, and sending academic delegations. They also stressed the need to expand faculty and student exchanges and to establish coherent mechanisms for the reciprocal admission and deployment of scientific personnel.

Another topic discussed during the meeting was the establishment of a joint industrial and technological fund to support collaborative projects between universities and technology companies in Iran and Indonesia—an initiative that could facilitate the commercialization of scientific achievements and promote industrial cooperation.

Additionally, both sides discussed ways to strengthen the role of universities in regional and international scientific diplomacy and agreed on active participation in scientific meetings and networks, particularly programs related to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), as well as cooperation within the framework of scientific summits and initiatives of the D-8 member countries.

During the meeting, the development of cultural cooperation between Iran and Indonesia was also highlighted, particularly in promoting the Persian language and literature and establishing or strengthening Persian language centers at Indonesian universities as a key area of collaboration.

In conclusion, both sides emphasized the continuation of joint meetings and the formation of specialized working groups, and expressed their readiness to develop operational and implementation plans in the shared fields of cooperation.
