Pars Today — In response to repeated claims regarding Iran’s three islands, a spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “Historically, legally, and in reality, there is no doubt about Iran’s sovereignty over these islands.”
Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said on Sunday at a press conference regarding diplomatic developments: “One of the significant developments for the international community and the Global South is a resolution approved by the United Nations General Assembly establishing an International Day against Unilateral Coercive Measures.”
According to Pars Today, the adoption of this resolution reflects the global community’s concern over the dominance of coercive measures against developing countries and represents a major development.
Gaza situation remains dire
Baqaei commented on the dire situation in Gaza, saying: “The crimes of the Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip continue, and nearly 400 innocent people have lost their lives. Israel is destroying whatever remains in Gaza. Additionally, UN reporters have been heavily threatened, which reflects the impunity granted to Israel by the United States.”
U.S. seeks Israeli dominance in West Asia
The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commenting on the content of the U.S. National Security Strategy and its actions in West Asia, said: “We will review this document, but what is clear is that it openly states everything that past U.S. administrations have pursued in secret over the years. The document mentions ensuring the security of the Israeli regime and securing access to energy.”
The reality is that one can assess that the United States has positioned itself as a judge over all countries. Another point is that the document makes no reference to the rights of the Palestinian people, which indicates that it is focused on the security of the Israeli regime. The U.S. is solely concerned with enforcing Israeli dominance in the region. This, in itself, signals American complicity in the crimes committed by the Israeli regime.
We will firmly defend Iran’s national sovereignty
In response to renewed claims by the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council regarding Iran’s three islands, Baqaei said: “Iran’s position on the islands is clear. Historically, legally, and in reality, there is absolutely no doubt about Iran’s sovereignty over them. This statement merely repeats previous claims, and we do not accept such assertions. Every Iranian is sensitive about national sovereignty. Our advice to the Persian Gulf states is to ensure that their words do not pour water into the enemy’s mill — namely, the Israeli regime. We will certainly defend our national sovereignty with strength.”
We have no interference in Lebanon
Baqaei, speaking about Araghchi’s message to his Lebanese counterpart and Iran’s refusal of an invitation from Lebanon, said: “The discussion of Iranian interference in Lebanese affairs is entirely misleading; we have no intervention. Hezbollah is a deeply rooted and influential part of Lebanese society and makes its own decisions regarding its actions. Iran’s consistent concern for peace and security in the region should not be mistaken for interference — it reflects Iran’s sense of responsibility. We are ready for dialogue with Lebanese officials and maintain long-standing relations. Decisions on Lebanese matters should be pursued through Lebanese-to-Lebanese dialogue and the country’s constituent elements, and Hezbollah itself decides on issues concerning the resistance’s weapons.”
