Qalibaf: Iranian nation did not let enemy achieve goals

Pars Today – The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament described the renewed presence of Iranians in public as a “counter-spell” against the hostility of the United States and the Zionist regime toward Iran.

He stated, “Today, Iran’s 90-million-strong population, representing all religions, political preferences, and linguistic groups, stood united against foreign enemies, marking a turning point in Iranian awareness and resilience.”

On Monday (January 12), Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, spoke at the massive gathering in Tehran’s Enqelab Square, held simultaneously across Iran to protest Zionist–American terrorism and condemn the recent terrorist actions of rioters in the country. He said, “We thank God that in the psychological war waged by the United States and the Zionist regime, the great Iranian nation did not allow the enemy to achieve its goals, blocking any attempts by the enemy in political, economic, and cultural matters. This nation stood powerfully against the enemy.”

Qalibaf stated that even after seven months since the 12-day conflict, the enemy has not abandoned its malicious and criminal aims. He emphasized, “The criminal enemy seeks to prevent Iran from being strong and independent. Today the issue is completely clear: we all saw that the US president openly and officially threatened Iran because he has decided to ignite a civil war under any pretext.”

The Speaker added, “There are those who openly consider themselves foreign mercenaries, welcoming the US president to our homeland and placing him above their own country. These are the same former ISIS members who, as everyone saw, acted violently in other countries. They are stateless, anti-religion ISIS operatives and armed mercenaries who have launched a terrorist war against our nation.”

The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament continued, saying, “Their goal was to create fear and terrorize the people. They attempted to restart the chaos project from the wartime era in a different form, carrying out armed attacks in ISIS-style, committing brutal crimes against women, children, and police.”

Referring to the ruthlessness of terrorist forces during the recent unrest, Qalibaf stated, “As you witnessed, they showed no mercy to anyone. They came to the north, south, and other cities to take revenge on the Iranian people, attempting to divide the country and spreading fear and terror.”

He added, “Our enemies again miscalculated today. They saw that the sons and daughters of Iran never stepped back—they defended Iran in Tehran and across the country and fully took on the mission of restoring order with all their strength.”
