Araghchi takes a swipe at Trump: “We will be fair”

Pars Today – Iran’s foreign minister reacted sarcastically to Donald Trump’s recent remarks, writing in a social media post that "Iran has always been the GUARDIAN of the Strait and will remain so FOREVER," adding: “20% is of course too much. We will be fair.”

According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi responded to the U.S. president’s call for collecting a 20 percent fee and compensation related to the Strait of Hormuz by posting on social media:

“POTUS (The president of the United States) is absolutely right. Whoever provides secure and safe passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz should be compensated for this service.”

He added: “Iran has always been the GUARDIAN of the Strait and will remain so FOREVER. 20% is of course too much. We will be fair.”
