Pars Today – The Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran described the interference of extra-regional actors as a threat to the security and stability of the region during a meeting with the President of Azerbaijan in Baku.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, Iran’s Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, on Friday, at the start of his visit to Azerbaijan, met with President Ilham Aliyev in Baku. They discussed the expansion of bilateral relations across various fields as well as issues related to regional security.

Brigadier General Nasirzadeh expressed satisfaction over the establishment of peace in the Caucasus and emphasized the importance of the role of regional countries in maintaining stability and calm. He also stated that the intervention of extra-regional actors disrupts the security and tranquility of the region.

The President of Azerbaijan, referring to the importance of relations between the two countries as neighbors with many shared ties, emphasized: “Azerbaijan has always considered strengthening Iran’s stability and security.” Expressing concern about the security situation in the region, he added: “Within the framework of our sincere and fraternal relations, we will not allow any threat to be directed at the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

The Azerbaijani president also highlighted Baku’s readiness to support efforts aimed at reducing tensions between Iran and the United States.

During his visit, Iran’s Minister of Defense also met with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defense. Both sides emphasized developing joint cooperation to strengthen regional security.
