Iran's Tarbiat Modares University; Leading in advanced materials technology

Pars Today – Iran’s Tarbiat Modares University has strengthened its position as an influential Iranian academic institution by achieving top national and global rankings in advanced materials technology.

According to Pars Today, citing the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC), Tarbiat Modares University ranked among the top Iranian universities in advanced materials technology research output during the 2005–2024 period.

Based on data from the Web of Science database, the report evaluated the global scientific production of the Islamic Republic of Iran and other Islamic countries in this field.

Based on these data, Tarbiat Modares University ranked first in Iran in the field of “metal–organic frameworks (MOF)” with the publication of 389 scientific papers. This strategic research area has wide applications in energy storage, environmental protection, and emerging technologies.

The report of Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) also shows that Tarbiat Modares University has achieved notable performance in other specialized fields, including layered double hydroxides (LDH), MXene, graphene oxide (GO), carbon nanotubes (CNT), and zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIF), reflecting the university’s investment strategy in emerging scientific technologies.

In the global EduRank rankings in materials science, Tarbiat Modares University secured 391st place worldwide, 127th in Asia, and 6th in Iran. The university’s continuous presence in reputable international rankings reflects the steady growth of Iran’s scientific production in advanced materials research and the strengthening of the country’s academic standing at regional and global levels.
