Pars Today – The ambassador and permanent representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) stated: “Attacks on safeguarded nuclear facilities must be condemned.”
According to Pars Today quoting IRNA, Reza Najafi said on Friday: “The Zionist regime, due to its wrong policies and illegal actions, is considered a serious threat to international peace and security.”
Referring to attacks on the IAEA’s safeguarded nuclear facilities, he emphasized: “Such actions constitute a violation of international nuclear non-proliferation norms, and if the Agency and the Board of Governors adhere to these norms, they must stand firm against these actions.”
Najafi also pointing to the policies of the genocidal Israeli regime in the West Asia region, stated: “The peace and security of this region are directly linked to the approaches and actions of this regime; a regime that has a dark history of aggression, occupation, violation of international law, and committing crimes against innocent civilians.”
He further stressed: “The establishment of lasting peace and security in West Asia will not be possible without ending the occupations, aggressions, and massacres of the Palestinian people, and the international community cannot remain silent in the face of this situation.”
Najafi concluded by referencing the support of some Western countries possessing nuclear weapons, particularly the United States, for Israel’s illegal actions, emphasizing that these supports should not be overlooked, as they play a role in the continuation of this genocidal regime’s warmongering and destabilizing policies.
