Pars Today – Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wrote in a social‑media message: Negotiation has no relation to dictation and coercion.
According to Pars Today, Esmaeil Baqaei, the spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wrote in a social‑media message: The concept of “negotiations” requires, at the very least, a genuine attempt to engage in discussions with a view to resolving the dispute (ICJ, Judgement of 1 April 2011, para. 157). It needs 'good faith', then, meaning that 'negotiations' is not 'disputation'; nor is it 'dictation', 'deception', 'extortion' or 'coercion'.”
Baqaei also rejected claims and speculation by some media outlets about the content of Iran’s response, emphasizing that Iran’s response has not yet been delivered.
He also commented on the latest state of the diplomatic process mediated by Pakistan, saying: Message exchanges through the Pakistani mediator are ongoing, and reviews of the exchanged texts continue.
Baqaei stated that Iran’s response to the U.S. views regarding Tehran’s 14‑point proposal has not yet been conveyed to the Pakistani side.
