Araghchi: U.S. cannot achieve goals through military action

Pars Today – Iran’s Foreign Minister said there is no military solution and that the United States must recognize this reality.

According to Pars Today, citing Tasnim News Agency, Abbas Araghchi said in an interview with an Indian media outlet that at the BRICS meeting he had the opportunity to present the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, particularly following the “aggressive war imposed by the United States and Israel against Iran.”

He emphasized a diplomatic approach, stating that there is no military solution and that the United States should understand this fact. He added that the US has tested Iran at least twice and has now reached the conclusion that a military solution does not exist.

He further stated that the US cannot achieve its objectives through military actions, but the situation would be different if it pursued diplomacy. He noted that Iran had previously initiated engagement, but there have been many obstacles along the way.

Abbas Araghchi emphasized that “the Strait of Hormuz is not closed,” saying that as far as Iran is concerned, the Strait of Hormuz remains open, especially for friendly countries. He added that any restrictions apply only to Iran’s enemies.

He stated that ships belonging to friendly countries and others are only required to coordinate their passage with Iranian military forces in order to avoid any possible obstacles and ensure safe transit. He noted that in recent days, many vessels have passed through the strait with the assistance of Iranian naval forces, and this process will continue.

The Foreign Minister concluded that the only solution is a complete end to the ongoing aggressive war, after which Iran will ensure safe passage for every vessel.
