Iranian missiles target U.S. bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Jordan
Pars Today – Regional media reports that Iran has launched missile strikes in response to the recent U.S. military aggression. According to the reports, U.S. military bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and Jordan were targeted.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, the interior ministries of Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar said in separate statements that air raid sirens were activated after ballistic missiles were launched from Iran.
The Iraqi media outlet Sabereen News reported that, in addition to bases in Bahrain and Qatar, U.S. military bases in Kuwait were also targeted in Iranian airstrikes.
Arab media sources also reported that Iranian missiles struck a U.S. military base in Kuwait, adding that the country's air defense systems were unable to intercept the incoming missiles.
Al Jazeera also reported that powerful explosions shook Kuwait. Iraqi sources said the blasts were so intense that they could be heard across parts of the country.
In Bahrain, air raid sirens also sounded, with loud explosions reported. Sabereen News said that the headquarters of the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain had been targeted by Iranian missiles and drones.
Qatar's Interior Ministry issued a statement announcing an elevated security threat level and urged everyone to remain in their homes or other safe locations.
Some sources also reported that Al-Azraq Air Base in eastern Jordan had come under attack.
Meanwhile, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement:
"In a joint missile and drone operation, the IRGC's Naval and Aerospace Forces struck key infrastructure and facilities at the U.S. bases of Arifjan and Ali Al Salem in Kuwait, as well as Juffair and Sheikh Isa in Bahrain."
