Baqaei criticizes Kuwait's ingratitude and hosting of Iran's enemies

Pars Today – The spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, recalling Iran's historical assistance to Kuwait during the invasion by Saddam Hussein's regime, has said that hosting Iran's enemies and collaborating with them in stoking flames against Iranians is a sign of ingratitude toward the past and a lack of foresight.

According to Pars Today, quoting IRIB News Agency, Ismail Baqaei, the spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, posted a message on his X account on Wednesday night, along with a photo of Iranian specialists in Kuwait in 1991 who had gone to the country to extinguish the burning Kuwaiti oil wells. He wrote: "This is a historic photo of noble and selfless Iranian specialists striving to extinguish Kuwait's blazing oil wells after the retreat of the Ba'athist Iraqi regime's army from the country in 1991."

He added thta despite the fact that only three years had passed since the end of Saddam's imposed war against Iran, and the festering wounds caused by the comprehensive support of Kuwait and other members of the [Gulf] Cooperation Council for the aggressor Saddam regime were still fresh, Iran responded to the Kuwaiti government's request by dispatching a 47-member team of oil industry specialists to participate in the firefighting operation, and took responsibility for capping 28 oil wells in the vast Burgan field—an event recorded in international documents and reports as part of the largest oil well firefighting operation in history."

Baqaei emphasized: "Noble Iranians extinguished the fire that had befallen you, and you have become part of the fire of the demons against our people! Iran has always adhered to good neighborliness, but the smoke of ingratitude and lack of foresight will blow into the eyes of the ungrateful. He who sows thorns will not harvest grapes."
