Iran strongly condemns U.S. and Saudi aggression against Iraq
Pars Today – Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned aggressive attacks carried out by the United States and Saudi Arabia against several areas in Iraq, including strikes targeting facilities and sites belonging to Iraq's official institutions, as well as Arbaeen pilgrimage service stations and processions.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, Iran's Foreign Ministry said the attacks constitute a blatant violation of Iraq's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as a grave breach of Article 2(4) of the United Nations Charter and the fundamental principles of international law. The ministry added that the attacks serve the objectives of the United States and the Israeli regime to expand the scope of war and conflict across the West Asia region.
Expressing condolences over the martyrdom of a number of Iraqi civilians in the attacks, Iran's Foreign Ministry reaffirmed the Islamic Republic's full solidarity with the government and people of Iraq. It also held the warmongering U.S. regime and its regional partners responsible for the dangerous consequences of these criminal, inhumane, and provocative actions.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi Presidency issued a statement strongly condemning the attacks on the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd al-Shaabi) in several parts of the country, describing them as a clear violation of Iraq's sovereignty and an assault on its official security institutions.
