10th Iran-Pakistan Joint Economic Committee meeting begins

Pars Today – The 10th meeting of the Iran-Pakistan Joint Economic Committee began on Tuesday in Islamabad with the participation of Seyed Mohammad Atabak, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, and Jam Kamal Khan, Pakistan’s Minister of Commerce.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, during the opening ceremony, Pakistan’s Commerce Minister welcomed the high-ranking Iranian delegation and described Iran-Pakistan relations as being based on historical, cultural, and neighborhood ties. He stressed the Pakistani government’s determination to expand and deepen economic and trade cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Referring to the extensive capacities of Iran and Pakistan in areas such as trade, energy, transportation, agriculture, and investment, Jam Kamal Khan said Islamabad seeks to remove existing obstacles, facilitate bilateral trade, and increase the volume of economic exchanges with Tehran.

Seyed Mohammad Atabak, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, also emphasized the importance of holding regular sessions of the Joint Economic Committee as an effective mechanism for developing bilateral cooperation.

Referring to the economic and industrial capacities of Iran and Pakistan, he described expanding trade cooperation, joint investment, developing transportation infrastructure, facilitating the activities of economic actors, and utilizing the capabilities of the private sector as priorities in cooperation between the two countries.

He expressed hope that the decisions made during the meeting would pave the way for increased trade exchanges and the implementation of joint economic projects.

The 10th meeting of the Iran-Pakistan Joint Economic Committee will be held for two days in Islamabad. During the meeting, specialized committees from both countries will examine ways to expand cooperation in trade, industry, energy, transportation, customs, agriculture, investment, and other areas of mutual interest.
