Pars Today – Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei, said that the United States is responsible for creating insecurity in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Gulf of Oman, adding that by imposing an illegal war on Iran, the United States has put the entire region at risk.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, made the remarks during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Tehran Cong Peiwu.

Referring to the constructive and stable relations between Iran and China over the past several decades, Rezaei said: “There is a strategic agreement between Iran and China. Moreover, the two countries are members of important international groupings such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS, which can provide significant potential for expanding bilateral relations in the future.”

Rezaei also welcomed China’s decision not to support an anti-Iranian and illegal resolution submitted to the United Nations Security Council during the Ramadan war, describing the move as positive.

He stressed, “The Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened until the United States changes its behavior and accepts Iran’s conditions. The United States must end the war, release Iran’s frozen funds, and the wars throughout the region, including in Lebanon and Gaza, must end. There are also other conditions that have been conveyed to them through intermediaries.”

Mohsen Rezaei continued: “If Iran and Oman reach an agreement on the routes for passage through the Strait of Hormuz, that agreement will be separate from the closure of the strait. These are two distinct issues.”

The Chinese ambassador, for his part, emphasized China’s support for Iran’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, describing Beijing and Tehran as strategic partners and stating: “China opposes the military attack by the United States and Israel against Iran.”

Referring to Beijing’s desire to expand cooperation with Iran, Cong Peiwu stressed: “We believe that Iran, in addition to strength, also possesses prudence and wisdom and can manage the current circumstances.”

He said: “China has always welcomed the strengthening of relations in West Asia and among the countries of the Persian Gulf region.”
