Araghchi: Iranian nation will stand firm to uphold its rights

Pars Today – Iran’s Foreign Minister said after the first day of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Kyrgyzstan that the Iranian nation will continue to stand firm in defending its rights.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Abbas Araghchi said on Monday night, following the first day of the SCO summit in Kyrgyzstan: “All the meetings and discussions were entirely substantive and free of the usual formalities. In particular, we discussed issues and areas of potential cooperation in the economic sector and other fields.”

He added: “The issue of the United States’ acts of aggression and their consequences was also raised. We stressed that the Iranian nation will continue to stand firm in defending its rights.”

Araghchi noted that one of the issues raised in all the meetings was the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, an agreement signed by the presidents of Iran and the United States that the US has violated.

Iran’s Foreign Minister stressed: “The solution is completely clear and straightforward: the United States must return to its commitments and to the same agreement signed by its president. If that happens, everything can be put back on the right track.”
