Pezeshkian: We held useful and effective consultations to advance regional cooperation

Pars Today — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian described the meetings and consultations held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit as useful and effective in advancing regional cooperation.
According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, Pezeshkian said on Tuesday afternoon, at the conclusion of his participation in the 26th SCO Summit in Kyrgyzstan: “During our participation in the summit, we had very good meetings and discussions. At both the SCO leaders’ summit and the Shanghai Plus meeting, we explained the Islamic Republic of Iran’s positions regarding developments and problems in the region, as well as the responsibilities of the SCO and its member states.”
The Iranian president added: “In the final declaration of the summit, all SCO member states, without exception, deemed the aggression against Iran unacceptable. They condemned the aggressor and emphasized the need to respect the territorial integrity of countries.”
Referring to his bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit, Pezeshkian said: “During this trip, we held direct talks with several presidents and heads of state. The discussions were very constructive.” He added that expanding economic, social, and political relations was another key topic of the meetings.
Pezeshkian noted: “All sides pledged to help Iran overcome the existing problems, while the Islamic Republic of Iran also pledged to help these countries, so that through cooperation we can establish peace and security in the region.”
