Bahreini: US and Israeli aggression root cause of economic tensions

Pars Today- Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva stressed that the root cause of economic tensions in the region is the military aggression by the United States and Israel.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Ali Bahreini, Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, said that the economic consequences of tensions in the areas of trade, energy and food are the direct result of acts of aggression against Iran.

He noted that unilateral coercive measures (sanctions) and related restrictions undermine development prospects and make targeted economies more vulnerable to external shocks.

According to Bahreini, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) should pay due attention to the cumulative impacts of these measures on the development and economic resilience of developing countries.
