Pars Today – The head of Iran’s Medical Council said Iran ranks first in the world in vaccination coverage and third globally in infertility treatment.

According to Pars Today, citing Young Journalists Club (YJC), Mohammad Raiszadeh, head of Iran’s Medical Council, said more than 170,000 physicians are currently practicing in Iran, with a doctor-to-population ratio of 19 per 10,000 people.

According to him, the World Health Organization (WHO) has reported an average global doctor-to-population ratio of 16 per 10,000, meaning Iran’s ratio is higher than the global average.

Raiszadeh emphasized that Iran currently ranks first in the world in vaccination coverage and third globally in infertility treatment.

He added that Iran ranks fourth in the world in liver and kidney transplantation. He also said Iran is among the leading countries in cochlear implantation, heart surgery and other complex surgical procedures.
