Pars Today – The Director General for International Peace and Security at Iran’s Foreign Ministry conveyed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s protest to Norway’s ambassador in Tehran over Norway’s continued inaction regarding unauthorized Starlink activities.

According to Pars Today, Mohammad Hassan-Nejad Pirkouhi, Director General for International Peace and Security at Iran’s Foreign Ministry, on Sunday summoned Norway’s Ambassador to Tehran, Paul Bjør Nestad, to the Foreign Ministry. He explained how the United States and the Israeli regime have been misusing Starlink satellite internet systems to advance their interventionist actions against Iran, and conveyed Iran’s official protest over Norway’s inaction regarding the system’s unauthorized activities in Iranian territory.

Strongly criticizing Norway’s failure to fulfill its obligations as the country that registered the Starlink network with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Pirkouhi stressed that, based on decisions adopted by the ITU’s Radio Regulations Board (RRB) in recent years, the Norwegian government has been required to take the necessary measures to prevent unauthorized Starlink transmissions in Iranian territory. However, despite repeated follow-ups by the Islamic Republic of Iran, Norway has taken no effective action.

Pirkouhi called for Iran’s request for immediate and effective action by the Norwegian government to halt activities by the Starlink system that violate Iran’s sovereignty and national security to be conveyed without delay. He also handed the Norwegian ambassador a formal note of protest.
