Pars Today- The representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations, responding to the claims and rhetoric of Bahrain’s representative, stressed that Iran was not the party that initiated the attack and warned against providing territory and airspace for attacks on Tehran.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Ali Karimi-Maqam, the diplomat of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations, responded to the Bahraini diplomat’s claims at the Third Committee of the international body, saying: “Bahrain speaks about human rights while turning a blind eye to what lies behind the events.”
He said Bahrain is not a victim, adding: “This country provided its territory, bases and airspace for the illegal war against Iran by the United States.”
The Iranian diplomat added: “Bahrain, which provided its territory for the United States’ illegal war against its neighbor, can no longer express shock and surprise at the consequences.”
The Iranian representative to the UN Third Committee stressed that Iran did not initiate the attack but was attacked, emphasizing that Tehran’s response was “the exercise of its inherent legitimate right.”
The Iranian diplomat warned: “If the territory of any country in the region is used again to carry out an attack against Iran, we will respond.”
Addressing Bahrain’s representative, the Iranian envoy said: “There are only two options. Either we build security together in the region, or we will have to endure insecurity together.”
The Iranian diplomat stressed: “Bahrain previously chose the second option, and if it makes the same choice again, it should not expect a different outcome.”
