A fourth round of international talks on peace in Afghanistan has begun in the capital Kabul.
According to Press TV, representatives from Pakistan, Afghanistan, China and the United States are meeting to decide a date for the direct talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban militants.
Earlier, Afghan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani repeated a call for the Taliban to join the talks, saying Tuesday's meeting would prepare the ground for direct talks to open soon.
At their previous meeting held in Pakistan last month, the representatives said that face-to-face talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban should begin by the end of February.
In a declaration, the participants also stressed the need for the elimination of extremism in the war-torn nation.
