IAEA chief to visit Iran

Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano is due to visit Tehran soon, Iranian officials said on Tuesday.

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi announced that Amano has voiced interest in visiting Tehran before the yearend.

"We welcome his visit," Salehi told the state TV today.

This will be Amano's second visit to Tehran in 2016. He visited Iran in January, when Tehran's nuclear deal with world powers went into effect.

His visit will take place as the US is showing signs of disloyalty to the last year nuclear deal.

Last Thursday, the US Senate voted to the extension of the Iran Sanctions Act (ISA) that clearly violates the last year nuclear deal.
Iranian officials have warned that Tehran has prepared itself for showing a tough reaction.
